Turning travel mode on and off can be as simple as hiding and showing a dedicated phone Home Screen. Create one iPhone page for travel-only apps and widgets like boarding passes, TripIt, and countdowns, then keep it disabled until a trip starts. When travel begins, re-enable it and set it as the primary screen to avoid clutter and constant rearranging.
